Fort Myers Pet-Friendly Fun

When it’s time to travel, having a pet can put you both in a tough spot, but bringing a dog to The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel is easier than ever. Nothing makes a dog happier than a day by the sand, so we’ve made finding pet-friendly things to do a total breeze, because we believe every family vacation should include every family member.

For some off-leash excitement there’s the rightly named Dog Beach Park located south of Fort Myers Beach in Bonita Springs. It’s one of Florida’s only off-leash dog beaches and a big hit for locals and visitors. The secluded shoreline and shallow waters make Dog Beach Park one of our best pet-friendly beaches, and when you get the chance, there’s even more spots to explore. Check out some other dog-friendly parks here

After a full day, you’ll want to round everything off with food. Dog-friendly restaurants are plentiful, like Nervous Nellies or The Mucky DuckBonita Bills on Fort Myers Beach even has dog treats, just walk up to the bar. If you’re not sure which restaurants are pet-friendly, ask the staff. Pets on a leash are almost always allowed where there’s outdoor seating.

When you’re with your best friend, it’s best to leave some things unplanned. These places will get you started, but rest assured there are plenty more parks, shops and activities to discover all on your own. Check out these pet-friendly places to stay here. Be sure to narrow your search by selecting "Pet-Friendly" under the amenities section. For information on each property’s pet policy, including types of pets allowed, contact the location directly.
